The application process is open to all Kenosha Unified School District High School, Shoreland Lutheran, Christian Life and St. Joseph Catholic Academy High School seniors pursuing their education at a two-year or four-year institution. Applicants will be evaluated based on their academic achievements, extracurricular activities, leadership experience, and personal essays. We strongly encourage applications from our community’s minority students.

Each Mary Lou & Arthur F. Mahone CEO Youth Scholar will be awarded a $1,000 scholarship yearly for up to 5 years, totaling $5000, that can be applied towards tuition, room and board, books, and other fees related to education. The $1000 scholarship is renewable for up to a total of (5) consecutive school years, provided the recipient continues to meet the qualifications. The funds will be disbursed to the student and the institution at which the scholar is enrolled, in two equal payments, one each semester. Each semester the scholarship recipient must provide documentation of full-time enrollment in any discipline. If the student attends only one semester, the unused funds will revert back to the Mary Lou & Arthur F. Mahone Fund.

Herzing University has partnered with the Mahone Fund to provide one full-tuition scholarships granted to incoming 2024 freshmen from Kenosha Unified School District High Schools, Shoreland Lutheran, Christian Life or St. Joseph Catholic Academy High School who are interested in pursuing an associate or bachelor’s degree through the Herzing University system.

Carthage College has partnered with the Mahone Fund to provide two (2) financial aid options to incoming 2024 freshmen from Kenosha Unified School District High Schools, Shoreland Lutheran, Christian Life or St. Joseph Catholic Academy High School.
For students who meet this criteria, Carthage pledges to meet their remaining need up to full tuition through a combination of federal, state and institutional financial aid.
