Mahone Fund

The Mary Lou & Arthur F. Mahone Fund, a component of the Kenosha Community Foundation, provides a variety of scholarships to all eligible high school seniors in Kenosha and Racine pursuing their education at a two-year or four-year accredited institution.

Each Mary Lou & Arthur F. Mahone Fund CEO Scholar will be awarded a $1,000 scholarship yearly for up to 5 years, totaling $5,000, that can be applied towards tuition, room and board, books, and other fees related to

education. The $1,000 scholarship is renewable for up to a total of 5 consecutive school years, provided the recipient continues to meet the qualifications. The funds will be disbursed to the student and the institution at which the scholar is enrolled, in two equal payments, one each semester. Each semester the scholarship recipient must provide documentation of full-time enrollment in any discipline. If the student

attends only one semester, the unused funds will revert back to the Mary Lou & Arthur F. Mahone Fund.

For Eligibility, Students Must:


Attend one of the following high schools: Racine Unified School District High Schools, The Prairie School, St. Catherine’s High School and Racine Lutheran High School
Demonstrate financial need in the immediate family or eligibility for free and reduced meal benefit
Have earned a 2.5 GPA on an unweighted scale
Demonstrate leadership through participation in school and community extra-curricular activities, and provide and document a minimum of 20 community service hours each year for scholarship renewal
Provide evidence of acceptance into an accredited college, university or technical institute at the time of the award. Awards will not be granted to applicants without this notification
